Corrugated Steel Cisterns

Corrugated steel cisterns are an ideal solution for potable water storage.

  • 5,000 - 30,000 imperial gallons storage capacity
  • Made from ribbed culvert steel with hot-dipped zinc coating
  • Each sheet comes in 10 foot lengths for easy transport and assembly
  • Tanks can be installed on soil, sand or concrete
  • The corrugated steel tanks will not rust
  • Lifetime guarantee

Completed Steel Cistern

Corrugated steel water storage tanks range in size from 5,000 to 30,000 imperial gallons. These tanks have been used for water storage for over 30 years in other parts of the world.

They are made of 18, 16, & 12 gauge ribbed culvert steel, with a 2 ounce per square foot hot-dipped zinc coating.

Each sheet is pre-bent by the manufacturer, and stenciled with the producer’s designation as an assurance that a conforming material has been used. These 10 foot long metal sheets have been pre-punched for bolting together on site.

The tank itself has been ‘stamped’ by a BC structural engineer.

The tanks can be installed on evenly compacted soil or sand. They are robust, and can be partially backfilled into the side of a slope. This moderates seasonal temperature changes of the water.

"Hidden" Steel Cistern

The steel tanks can be placed and backfilled so they seem to disappear into new or existing landscaping.

Polypropylene liner material

The polypropylene lining material is the result of catalyst technologies developed in the last few years. The result is:

  • A reinforced 36mm liner that is supple and durable
  • US potable water rating certified NSF 61
  • Excellent cold temperature properties
  • Extended chemical resistance & UV stability

The liner comes with a heavy fabric reinforced "hem" so that it may be bolted to the inside of the tank, leaving the top face open for the roof structure.

Liner is bag shaped and forms bottom of cistern It has an excellent memory as it empties and refills.

Honey-comb roof on the tank

The 'honeycomb' wood frame for the roof is structurally designed for snow loads, and provides ample screened venting around the perimeter.
